“Come on, Mistral!” Rowan smiled towards his Pokemon as they approached the entrance of the beach, the Piplup waddling behind him in an attempt to catch up. Since he’d joined Team Rocket, there hadn’t been many opportunities for rest and leisure, seeing as missions and responsibilities were plentiful. Mistral had been sure to voice their displeasure, especially since Rowan didn’t bring him on these missions, for fear of his companion getting hurt.

“Oh, wow.” It was a beautiful day, the waves gently lapping against the shore and forcing the familiar smell of saltwater into the air. “Ready to relax?” Tossing his belongings onto the sand, Rowan laid out his beach towel and positioned the umbrella to provide a modicum of shade whenever necessary. Pokémon were out and about, some wild and some belonging to the trainers that had come to visit the beach like himself, leaving Rowan to wonder if he could be productive today as well after all.

As Rowan settled into his position on the beach towel, he couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable, as though there was some large object laying underneath. “What the…?” As he stepped away from the beach towel, Rowan flung the fabric aside to discover a rock that had been buried underneath the sand. “Weird, that wasn’t here before.” Rowan reached a hand out towards the stone, attempting to retrieve the object before realizing that it wasn’t inanimate.

Kabuto crawled out of the sand and leapt into an attack, quickly finding themselves interrupted by a Drill Peck from Mistral, knocking them aside and back onto the sand. “Good work, mate!” Digging through the belongings in his bag, Rowan produced an empty Pokeball and tossed it towards the dazed Pokémon.
